Rumleys Open Farm provides a great location for many different occasions from birthdays to school tours and is one of the best family things to do in Cork no matter what the season. The farm has a wide range of activities for children of all ages and has many exotic and domestic animals.
Apart from the public areas there are also 20 plus acres of fully working farm. Amongst the wide selection of animals you will discover water buffalo, alpaca’s and nubian goats to name but a few. Go and see the large collection of birds in the Aviaries. Visit the ponds and wide variety of pigs including the famous sheep pig. From mid June the state of the art Robotic Milking Parlour is sure to amaze you. There are nearly 2 KM’s of walk ways to explore and meet the animals whilst enjoying panoramic views of both Cork city and the surrounding country side.
There are both indoor and outdoor play areas including a zipwire and go karts.
Getting hungry? No problem, come along to the Farm Café which serves delicious hot lunches and nutritious kids meals. You can bring your own picnic too as there are indoor and outdoor picnic areas. If you come in the afternoons, there is home made chocolate and cakes. Definitely get your walk in first so you can truly enjoy their great great, There is also a market garden shop where you buy the freshest of eggs and vegetables. And And if you are looking for the perfect gift for your animal lovers, then there are a wide range of animal themed cuddly toys and souvenirs.
