Ramble through Old Towns

Cork is filled with ancient and historic towns from Youghal in the east to Bantry in the west with Norman keeps, Knights Templar Castles, Monastic Round Towers and much more. One of our favourites though has to be the town of Kinsale which has long been hailed by visitors from all over the globe as one of the most atmospheric towns in Ireland. Ramble Kinsale’s medieval streets followed by dinner in any of the stunning choice of food havens. Every good romantic day, needs the right ambience, a relaxed atmosphere, pretty cobbled streets cloaked in history and of course good food with a fine wine.

You may notice at this stage that a lot of what happens in Cork, tends to end up about food. And in Kinsale it is no different. The biggest decision you have to make is where to go as there is such a huge choice of great eateries. On our last trip to Kinsale we ate in Crackpots which has a lot going for it. You can stop in for a glass of wine at the bar, eat delicious local produce including seafood, lobsters, oysters or Irish Beef (best beef in the world) etc, but if you like the pottery that they make you can buy that too. www.crackpots.ie .
