Join us on the ultimate foodie road trip to Ireland’s Gourmet Riviera for a 7 day/6 night food extravaganza. From the moment you arrive in the country prepare to be wowed whether you are a first timer or a regular visitor as you will be met off the aircraft and privately escorted through the airport to meet your chauffeur where your experience begins.
The Cliff House
Heading south, your first night in Ireland will be at the stunning 5 star Cliff House with its spectacular sea front views. While here you will have a chance to go sea foraging with one of the hotel chefs and that night dine in ‘The House’ their Michellin Star restaurant.
Ballyvolane House
Next night you will stay in exceptional Ballyvolane House, one of Ireland’s best country houses. You will enjoy your day next to Ireland’s best salmon fishing ‘The River Blackwater’ as you visit their wonderful farm and make your own Rhubarb Martini Cocktails (delicious!). That night dinner, is at the large communal table where you will enjoy the company of your fellow guests.
Ballymaloe House
Ballymaloe House, Ireland’s most famous cookery school is our next stop for some traditional Irish hospitality. In the afternoon we will take you on a private wine tasting, but don’t indulge too much as you will be up ‘baking bread’ in the kitchens the following morning. As a souvenir of your stay, you will take away a signed cook book from Ireland’s Cookery Grand Dame – Myrtle Allen.
Fota Island Resort
Next, we kick up the luxury even further with a stay in the sumptuous 5 star Fota Island Resort just outside Cork City. You will be escorted by a professional food guide to Ireland’s oldest and most famous centre of food – The English Market, which has been trading since 1788. This is where the Queen of England visited on her historic tour of Ireland in 2011 and you too will be taken on a gastronomic tour and meet some of its many characters before returning to the hotel for a 6 course tasting dinner that evening.
Inchydoney Lodge & Spa
The following morning, you continue your journey west on to the Wild Atlantic Way and a stay at the Inchydoney Lodge & Spa over looking Ireland best beach (according to Tripadvisor). This is a wonderful day where you will enjoy some kayaking to a deserted island for some seaweed foraging before returning to the spa for a seaweed bath & wrap and access to the heated seawater therapy pool (no kayaking experience is necessary). That night dinner will be in the excellent Gulf Stream Restaurant overlooking the ocean.
Sheen Falls Lodge
The last night of your stay will be in the magnificent 5 star Sheen Falls Lodge in the pretty town of Kenmare in Co Kerry and the end point of the Gourmet Riviera. The location of this hotel overlooking Kenmare is truly stunning irrespective of whether you are sitting on the lawn on a Summer’s day or in front of a roaring fire in the drawing room. While here, you will be accompanied by one of the chefs on a tour of their smoke house before dinner on your very last night.
