Discovering Cork are delighted to announce the addition of two new Cork walking tours to Cork. The Cork Ghost Tour and Viking Days and Norman Knights will not only take you on a tour of the streets of Cork City, but will also take you on a captivating journey back through time, to a more terrifying version of Cork than the that you see today.

The Cork Ghost Tour is a ghoulish adventure that runs right through the heart of the city. Learn all about Cork’s ghastly past and the troubling creatures who have dwelled within the city limits throughout the ages. Hear about how Charles Dickens came to Cork, and left with a chilling tale to tell the world about, as well as The Midnight Monks who stalk the city streets at night. Be careful of what lurks in the dark corridors that surround the Shandon Bells, as you hear even more terrfiying tales. The Cork Ghost Tour is a family friendly tour that is enjoyable for all ages, and is a great way to see the city streets in a new light.

The Viking Days and Norman Knights is one of the great Cork walking tours. You will be transported back to Medieval Cork, to the oldest city streets where markets and traders first set up. Learn all about Cork’s past, starting with the origins of Cork City as Saint Finbarr battled the mythical creature The Luiwee, and right on through the city’s history. Hear all about the presence of the ancient mysterious society of The Knights Templar and their time in Cork, as well as the tumultuous presence of the Vikings and Normans, and how they shaped the city forever.
