Fernhill Golf is a Par 69 course is just shy of 6000 yards out and back and offers some good challenges through out without being overly testing. Our favourite hole is the third which is tough right to left dog leg and plays over part of an old disused quarry. While the green itself is well protected with 4 green side bunkers. The course also offers 10 lit driving bays, putting greens and lessons with the resident professional.
The 5 star Castlemartyr Golf Resort which is just a 45 minute drive from Fernhill is set in an old manor estate in East Cork. It is an 18 hole, 6,790 yd, Par 72, inland links style course and is the creation of renowned golf course designer Ron Kirby, who designed legendary Irish course such as the Old Head, and Mount Juliet, as well as Gleneagles in Scotland. In Castlemartyr the course is set against the back drop on a 12th century Norman Keep and the 17th century manor house which sets the town for your days golf experience. This truly is a first class experience.
